SHELTER

COMMITTED TO HOUSING THOSE IN NEED

The Hathaway Family Foundation is committed to improving the lives of those in need. To achieve this goal, the foundation proudly supports programs that offer shelter and housing services. Our support is centered on the Housing First approach, recognizing that stable housing is a foundational step in addressing homelessness and creating a platform for individuals and families to address other crucial areas such as healthcare, education, and employment.

Stable Housing Programs

Hathaway Family Foundation supports a variety of housing programs in Upstate, South Carolina. Learn about the programs we are involved in and the impact they are making in local communities.

Emergency Shelter

The loss of shelter can result in significant trauma for individuals and families, which is why we support organizations that offer emergency shelter for those facing homelessness or emergencies.

Our support ensures that these individuals have access to temporary, secure housing and basic necessities like food, clothing, and medical care, helping to alleviate the stress of destabilizing events.

Transitional Housing

For those looking to make a more permanent change from the shelter system, transitional housing can provide a stepping stone. Our foundation supports agencies that offer transitional housing programs, which provide individuals and families with a safe and stable living environment for a set period of time.

During this time, residents have access to support services, like job training and financial management, to help them get back on their feet.

Permanent Supportive Housing

For those with more long-term needs, permanent supportive housing can provide a solution. Our foundation supports agencies that offer permanent supportive housing, which provides individuals and families with a permanent, affordable place to live, along with ongoing support services like healthcare, job training, and financial management. This type of housing helps residents achieve greater stability and independence, leading to improved quality of life.
